摘要

This was a fascinating study which introduced a brand new method to synthesize carbon aerogels from polyacrylic acid by using CO as a reducing agent, during which, with the help of metal salt, polyacrylic acid ensured the development of the aerogels' properties of huge surface area and low density. Required supercritical drying and thermal treatment were adopted to generate high surface area (1560 m(2)/g). According to the results demonstrated by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Energy-dispersive spectrometry (EDS), the sample was an inorganically porous material, with a density of approximately 20 mg/cm(3). In summary, the attractive properties of the carbon aerogel expounded the potential application possibility of their nanostructures on electrode.
