摘要

The Simms constants (g (i) ) are identified with protonation microconstants related to specific basicity centers, and are then involved in formulation of total alkalinity in isomolar titrand + titrant (D + T) systems. The novel models of complexation equilibria, derived on the basis of charge and concentration balances, are related to systems with mono- and polydentate complexes with metal ions, formed in natural waters. The models are particularly applicable for systems with fulvic acids and their complexes with different metal ions. Parameters of the models can be calculated according to the least-squares method, applied for results from pH titrations. Similarities among the related models are stated. The models are perceived as a challenge/counterproposal towards the methods known hitherto in the literature.
