Potassium aluminum sulfate (alum): an efficient catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of trisubstituted imidazoles

Trisubstituted imidazoles were synthesized in high yields in the presence of potassium aluminum sulfate (alum) as a non-toxic, reusable, inexpensive, and easily available reagent at 70 degrees C.
