摘要

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the best imaging technique to study the encephalic structures. Knowledge of their topography and orientation in different planes is essential to address neuroimaging studies. The sulcogyral anatomy, deep structures, and the brain vasculature are described. Anatomical applications of functional MRI and the contribution of high field MRI are highlighted.
