Based on the research results of the authors and their team, this paper introduces the recently-deve-loped techniques for the design and implementation of multiband bandpass filters, namely, designing dual- and tri-band bandpass filters respectively with multi-passband resonators to obtain independently-controllable passband frequency and bandwidth, with stepped impedance resonators to minimize the filter size, and with stub-loaded resonators to obtain conveniently-controllable passband frequency, and, developing tri- and quad-band bandpass filters with assembled resonators to obtain improved stopband rejection characteristic and more passbands. Moreover, a high-order dualband bandpass filter using multi-stub-loaded resonators is also introduced, a key merit of which is that the characteristics of the second passband can be conveniently controlled whereas those of the first passband remain unchanged.
