The continue time mathematical model of a three-phase active power filter (APF) in the abc frame was introduced firstly. And then, the mathematical model was discretized by backward difference in the αβframe. For an inner current loop, the deadbeat control (DBC) method was adopted to track the reference harmonic currents. In order to solve the problem of delay compensation in DBC, a two-step prediction was used to predict the reference current. Specifically, for the dramatic changing region of the compensated current, a current-tracking error compensation method was proposed to eliminate the upper convex and lower concave phenomena in grid side currents. Meanwhile, in order to suppress the influence on grid currents caused by sampling errors, a current correction algorithm was proposed to solve this problem. Finally, the experimental setup of a three-phase APF was built, and then the effectiveness of this method was verified by experiments.
