摘要

This paper introduced a new Lamb wave sensor based on the analysis of nowaday methods for measuring sound velocity in liquid. The mathematical model of the Lamb wave sensor was established on the basis of the partial wave theory and the surface effective permittivity method. The delay line type Lamb wave sensor was fabricated which utilizes lithium niobate as piezoelectric material, and the corresponding relationship between the output frequency of the sensor and the sound velocity in liquid under certain liquid density was obtained accordingly. Using mixtures of pure water and alcohol with different proportions as objects, the experimental results are in agreement with the theoretical calculations, verifying the availability of the sensor. Compared with other sensors, this sensor has many advantages such as high sensitivity, small dimension and minim liquid sample, etc.
