Analysis of HVDC linear ground electrode system

Study on the ground electrode system is a significant topic related to the stability and economy of the HVDC system. Operation performance of HVDC linear ground electrode system is presented and discussed. By adjusting the key parameters, the distance of electrode conductors, the buried depth and so on, the conclusions are drawn that the distribution of dissipation current density and potential considerably changes along the electrode conductors, and it may be helpful for the optimization of linear electrode system to enlarge the radius of conductors or inject the DC current into the middle parts of the electrode conductors appropriately.
