This is the second year that a review has been provided on the top 10 clinical abstracts for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (SCT) presented at the American Society of Hematology meetings. This is a rewarding though daunting experience. There were over 850 presentations dealing with SCT. All of these studies serve to move the field forward in varying increments and continue to build on the important themes that generate great interest and controversy in the field. Therefore, it is quite misleading to suggest that there is a "Top 10" list of abstracts related to transplant, as there were many that were extremely significant and equally worthy of note, recognition, and discussion. However, we sought to include those abstracts that could result in changes in clinical practice, presented long-awaited results, or were of strong interest to the transplant community. The exclusion of other equally useful and important studies from this review is a reflection of space limitations rather than quality of work. All 10 abstracts are published in full in the November 19, 2010 issue of "Blood" (volume 116, No. 21) and are identified here by their abstract number.
