摘要

This paper discusses synchronization with Ant Colony Optimization. Synchronization is an important issue in the wireless sensor network field. Researchers have developed many schemes for implementing synchronization and routing functions in wireless sensor networks, including time-sync protocol for sensor networks, the pulse-coupled scheme, the cluster header method, and so on. These schemes are well suited to sensor networks. This study proposes a synchronization method that adopts ant colony optimization. Specifically, Ant Colony Optimization synchronizes the whole sensor network. Since Ant Colony Optimization finds the shortest route between leaf nodes and the sink, it is ideal for synchronization and routing in the sensor network. The current study also proposes another scheme to reduce power consumption, using the leapfrog scheme in the ACO route to send synchronized messages in hop 1, hop 10, and hop 20. The performances and power consumption show that hop 10 and hop 20 are better than hop 1.
