Direct dyes, derivatives of 4,4'-diaminobenzanilide. II. The synthesis and evaluation of tinctorial properties of some disazoic dyes with asymmetrical structure

The synthesis of three disazo dyes with asymmetrical structure derived from 4,4'-diaminobenzanilide is presented. Salicylic acid, 6-amino-4-naphthol-2-sulphonic acid, 6-benzoylamino-4-naphthol-2-sulphonic acid and 7-amino-4-naphthol-2-sulphonic acid were used as coupling components. These dyes are analogue of the benzidinic C L Direct Brown 2 (C L 22311), C L Direct Brown 59 (C L 22345) and C L Direct Red33 (C L 22306). The dyes were analyzed by thin layer chromatography (TLC), electronic spectra (VIS) and their structure was confirmed by mass spectroscopy (FABS). Colouristic and fastness properties of the synthesized dyes were determined and compared with those of their benzidinic homologues.
