The eucalyptus powder without lignin was hydrolyzed in supercritical water, and the effect of reaction time on hydrolysis ratio, pH and hydrolysate, and kinetics were discussed. The results show that reaction time has specific impact on liquid ratio and pH, the maximum of liquid ratio was 86.8%, the minimum of pH was 2.77. The composition of hydrolysate includes oligosaccharide, hexose, xylose, 5-HMF, furfural, acetic acid, and some small molecules, such as furan, ketone, alcohols and alkenes. The types and concentration of these substances could change with the increasing of time. The maximum productivities of hexose, xylose, 5-HMF were 60.68%, 33.71% and 84.81%, respectively. Hydrolysis reaction was a series of consecutive reactions, which followed first-order reaction kinetics equation. It had disadvantages to the accumulation of hexose in supercritical water. The dehydration was the main pathway of hexose to decompose.
