摘要

To enhance the ride comfort of intercity vehicles, permanent magnets are introduced into ordinary magneto-rheological (MR) damper and the corresponding suspension is studied. Firstly, based on the traffic conditions of intercity vehicles and taking reducing regulating current of MR damper into consideration, the magnetic circuit of damper is designed and the dimensional parameters of permanent magnets are calculated. On this basis, the mathematical and simulation models for suspension are built. Then, simulations with both expressway and city road conditions are carried out respectively. Finally, a quarter suspension test rig is constructed with bench tests conducted. The results of simulations and bench tests indicate that the designed suspension system with permanent magnet MR damper can improve the ride comfort of vehicle with a smaller regulating current compared with ordinary MR damper.
