摘要

The A Lattice Boltzmann Method is employed to study incompressible flows passing two rotating cylinders in a. side-by-side arrangement. The study was carried out at various ranges of absolute rotational speeds between 0 to 2 for two different gap spacing of 1.5 and 0.5 at Reynolds number of 100 for two possible directions of counter rotation; a doublet-like and the reverse configurations. Quantitative information about the flow variables such as drag and lift coefficients and vorticity distributions on the cylinders is highlighted. It is found that, for doublet-like rotation, unsteady vortex wakes can be completely suppressed and cause to drag coefficient reduction as the absolute rotational speeds increases. However, for reverse doublet-like, wake pattern is changed in unsteady regimes according to the rotational speed and cause to drag coefficient change. Also, for both rotating cases, it is observed lift coefficient increases with increasing absolute rotational speeds. To validate the simulation, the results are compared to experimental and numerical.
