摘要

A new numerical approach was proposed to investigate deformation and failure of steel beams subjected to combined actions of explosion and fire, based on the layered Timoshenko beam nonlinear dynamic finite element method. The rate-sensitivity and temperature effects on the material were included in the material model, and a finite element program named FRAME-BF was compiled according to the proposed approach. The response of steel beams subjected to the combined actions of explosion and fire was investigated by FRAME-BF quantificationally. It is demonstrated that fire resistance of steel beams was reduced by the action of explosion, and the more reduction was observed in longer steel beams.
