摘要

Zinc oxide is a fascinating material with a combination of catalytic, electronic, optical, piezoelectric, and spintronic functionalities. It also has the most diverse configurations of simple or complex structures. ZnO therefore provides an ideal material platform for the construction of devices with micro- and/or nano-dimensions. Preparation of ZnO structures with well-defined dimension, shape, size and property is the most important step for these device exploration activities. In this paper, rational synthesis of low-dimensional ZnO nanostructures using wet oxidation and chemical solution growth approaches employed in the authors' group was reviewed.
