摘要

A novel standard distance ultrasonic reflection beam is studied to achieve the high accuracy rain gauge in this paper. It put forward a ultrasonic way of self calibration method which can be used both in water level measurement or distance measurement in the air. The standard scaled ultrasonic reflection beam can eliminate Ultrasonic velocity uncertainty caused by the ambient temperature and the viscosity of the media the ultrasonic transferred through, therefore accurate measurement of the rainfall can be achieved. The proposed rain gauge not only overcomes the traditional rain gauge's measurement influence by different rainfall intensity, but also improves the precision of rain gauge to meet the requirement of meteorological standard with the error less than 0.1 mm/day. All theoretical analysis, application data in real project and experimental results in lab show that the developed gauge is a new and high precision rain gauge with practical value.
