摘要

The main aim of this investigation was to improve the retarding effect of hydrogen peroxide decomposition on cotton fibers bleaching by encapsulation of hydrogen peroxide in cationic liposomes as an alternative to sodium silicate. The results obtained indicate that cationic liposomes can totally replace sodium silicate, and the retarding effect of liposomes and cationic liposomes on hydrogen peroxide decomposition was more effective than that of sodium silicate in the bleaching bath of cotton fibers. The optimum bleaching effect was achieved at pH 9 and 85 degrees C when cationic liposomes were used as oxidant stabilizer. Compared with liposomes and sodium silicate, cationic liposomes have better retarding effect on hydrogen peroxide decomposition and better whiteness improving effect on cotton fibers bleaching. The results indicated the potential of cationic liposomes as a novel stabilizer for bleaching applications.
