摘要

The electrospinning process is a complex combination of electrohydrodynamic phenomena which implies a multi-disciplinary approach. Both the properties of polymer solution and the parameters of electrospinning process significantly influence the characteristics of the resulted nanofibers. The absence of systematic knowledge on the electrospinning process results in the production of nanofibers with poorly controlled morphology and properties, with implications on the possibility to use them as functional materials. The present paper contains a study related to the influence of the distance between electrodes on the diameter of the fibers obtained from polyetherimide solution by electrospinning. The experiment we have designed provided fibers with diameters between 172.73nm and 1307.83nm. Using MATLAB, we have performed the analysis of the experimental data. The mathematical models revealed that, for the considered set of parameters, smaller mean fiber diameters were obtained for low values of the spinning distance.
