摘要

Bearing friction torque is an important performance parameter which is preferred during the design, so it is essential to model for the friction torque generated in angular contact ball bearings. However, the information about bearing friction torque is often poor, incomplete and uncertain, traditional modelling methods may not be acceptable or reliable without large datasets; hence, a new modelling method for the friction torque is proposed using grey system theory. Grey relational analysis is used to determine the key influencing factors; a multivariable grey system model, GM (1, N) model, is presented to model for bearing friction torque. In order to verify the accuracy and reliability of the proposed modelling method, a bearing test rig is designed and manufactured; several experiments are conducted on the friction torque of angular contact ball bearings in different conditions, a series of experiment data are used to grey model and validate. The results show that the maximum and the mean of the model prediction relative error are 7.04 and 4.08%, respectively; about 93% of bearing friction torque can be predicted. The results verify that the grey modelling method has good accuracy and is applicable for predicting friction torque of angular contact ball bearings.
