摘要
Anodic TiO2 nanotubes (ATNTs) are formed by anodization of Ti in fluoride electrolytes. However, the formation of ribs around the nanotubes has not been elucidated clearly. Here, an effective approach is proposed to inhibit the formation of ribs by introducing an additional compact layer (ACL). ACL is formed in electrolyte without fluoride, which can block the electrolyte entering into the gaps and consequently avoid the formation of ribs around ATNTs. This proves that ribs are oxide formation at the titanium interface due to the discontinuous access of electrolyte between nanotubes.
