An efficient catalytic synthesis of 1,2-dihydro-1-aryl-3H-naphth[1,2-e][1,3]oxazin-3-one derivatives using silica supported Preyssler heteropolyacid, H-14[NaP5W30O110]/SiO2 (50%) as a heterogeneous catalyst

Silica supported Preyssler type heteropolyacids are found to be efficient catalysts for the synthesis of 1,2-dihydro-1-aryl-3H-naphth[1,2-e][ 1,31]oxazin-3-one derivatives in good yields in a convenient, efficient and green reaction by condensation of beta-naphtol, aromatic aldehydes, urea, and ethanol under reflux conditions. The catalyst is recycled and reused several times.
