Alkylation of phenol with isopropanol over SAPO-11 zeolites

摘要

Modified SAPO-11 zeolites were used as catalysts for the alkylation of phenol with isopropanol. The phase, structure, texture and acidized properties of samples were characterized by means of XRD, N-2 adsorption/desorption, FT-IR, NMR, NH3-TPD and different surface treatment methods. It was found that B acid sites, which concentrate on the outer surface, play a major role on the alkylation of phenol with isopropanol. The sample shows high catalyst performance and phenol conversion and the total selectivity of o-isopropylphenol and p-isopropylphenol as 50 and 77 % were achieved under the optimal conditions: reaction temperature = 280 A degrees C, WHSV = 3.0 h(-1), catalyst loading = 0.5 g, n (IPA)/n (phenol) = 0.8.
