摘要

Simulated transmission spectra for the fiber sensor by the Finite-Difference time-Domain method are presented. The fabricated structure is considered for fiber sensor with 50 nm thickness gold film coating or gold ring array with the period 500 nm. The light spots locate 5 mu m apart from the end face for the fiber sensor. There are transmission dips and transmission peaks in the transmission spectra for the fiber sensor in the near-infrared wavelength range, which arose from the self-focus of the electric field or the excitation of the surface plasmon polarizon (SPR) or the localized surface plasmon polarizon (LSPR). The sensitivity of the fiber sensor based on LSPR is about 600 nm/RIU, which is higher than that of the common fiber sensor. We also considered the properties of the fiber sensor based on LSPR or SPR. Better electric field localization and enhancement can be achieved for the fiber sensor based on the LSPR and SPR. Meanwhile, these structures can be extensively applied to fiber sensor devices design and so on.
