摘要

An efficient image representation can save space and facilitate the manipulation of the acquired images. By controlling the ratio of the length and the width of a homogenous block and using a diagonal-first search strategy, a novel image representation algorithm based on Rectangular Non-symmetry and Anti-packing pattern representation Model Coding (RNAMC) is proposed, which is called CRDRNAMC representation algorithm in this paper. The diagonal-first strategy is adopted to search a rectangle subpattern in our proposed algorithm. During the procedure of scanning a rectangle subpattern, increase the values of both the horizontal ordinate and the vertical ordinate by one until the rectangle subpattern becomes a non-homogeneous block. At the same time, increase the value of the horizontal ordinate or the vertical ordinate by one until the rectangle subpattern becomes a non-homogeneous block again, and then the searching procedure stops. Also, we apply our proposed CRDRNAMC algorithm to medical image representation. By comparing the proposed algorithm with the conventional S-Tree Coding (STC) and the recent RNAMC algorithms, the theoretical analysis and the experimental results in this paper show the superiority of our proposed algorithm.
