摘要
We study, by microsimulation on the chiral magnets, the elementary functions of magnetic skyrmions and the design principles of skyrmionic memory devices. The external stimuli, such as local heating, magnetic field, electric field and electric current, trigger the creation and annihilation of the skyrmion. These procedures, corresponding to the writing and erasing operations, are achieved typically within of the order of nano or pico seconds. We also examine the current driven motion of the skyrmions and find that the gyro-dynamics, which is induced by the topological nature of the skyrmion, leads to the variety of useful functions including the remarkable enhancement of the spin-transfer-torque effect.
