摘要

In this paper, fabrication of poly-(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) retinal tack using x-ray lithography and longterm in-vivo biocompatibility evaluation is presented for progressive observation by optical coherent tomography (OCT). The PMMA is used to fabricate the retinal tack for its transparency, which is necessary for OCT. It is fabricated using x-ray lithography for an accurate micro-patterning, which is very scalable and is suitable for inexpensive/repeatable mass production. The PMMA retinal tack has micro-patterned, barb-shaped scale bars to acquire correct interpretation of OCT findings, which can be influenced by the refractive index of the observed materials. The results can be used for progressive observation of the retina after implantation of microelectrode array, which can provide the influences of the degenerative retinal layers due to repeated electrical stimulation in long-term.
