摘要

Due to its multiple implications, death concerns various fields such as medicine, law, public authorities and the society at large. From a general biological perspective, the individual's death is eventually a chance given to the species to renew itself to survive. The concept of "death" involves complex discussions, both medical and social. Not all societies accept the idea of cerebral death as being equivalent to the real death. Because of the fact that death is so painful, it is not accepted or recognized until it becomes imminent and we know very little about the patient's psychological state associated with the period between the diagnosis of terminal disease and death.,The biological testament" is a document that permits the patient to establish the type of care to be used in the eventuality of the terminal stage of her/his life, when all the chances of healing or at least improving life have disappeared. Christianity condemns this approach regarding it as felony against life: "any kind of crime, genocide, abortion, euthanasia or suicide" based on the fact that Jesus Christ, through His life, death and resurrection gave a new meaning to the existence, but especially to the death of a Christian, as Saint Paul says: "If we live, we live in the name of God, if we die, we die in the name of God".
