A study on (Ba, Sr) TiO3 series capacitor ceramics doping with Dy2O3

摘要

The influence of Dy2O3 doping on the dielectric properties of (Ba, Sr)TiO3 series capacitor ceramics has been studied by means of single factor variable method, and the law of the influence on the BST series capacitor ceramics has been obtained, i. e. with the increasing of Dy2O3additive amount, the dielectric constant (ε) of materials starts increasing and then decreasing while the dielectric loss (tanδ) decreasing and the dielectric constant (ε) is maximum while W(Dy2O3) = 0.5%. The BST ceramics with optimum comprehensive properties have been obtained, having high ε (= 5245), low tanδ (= 0.0026) and high DC breakdown voltage (= 5.5 kV/mm). The influence of Dy2O3 additive amount on the SEM photograph of the surface microstructure of BST ceramics has been studied by means of SEM. The results show that Dy2O3 additives influence the properties and microstructure of BST ceramics by means of forming defect solid solution, strong segregation in crystal boundary, stopping grain growth, fine crystal grain, and so on. These results provide the basis for Dy2O3-doped (Ba, Sr) TiO3 series capacitor ceramics.
