摘要

The contamination condition of high voltage insulators is usually estimated by detecting the root mean square (r.m.s.) of surface leakage current via online monitoring system. However, investigation shows that the leakage current is affected not only by the surface contamination of insulator but also by the environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and so on. The relationship between the current and those factors mentioned above is very complicated. In this paper, based on laboratory simulation experiments and field data, the influence of environmental factors on the exterior electrical characteristics of insulators with different contamination conditions is analyzed. A method to assess the surface contamination condition of insulators based on fuzzy logic reasoning and a set of fuzzy reasoning rules is proposed. Furthermore, the feasibility of the method presented has been validated in the laboratory and the field.
