To classify several wines from different origins, data visualization was introduced to wine aroma compounds. Sample wines were collected from five famous wine production regions: Hebei Changli, Xinjiang Manasi, Yunnan Mile, the eastern region of Helan Mountain of Ningxia and Hebei Shacheng, China. Volatiles of wine were extracted by dichloromethane, then the collected dichloromethane was concentrated and submitted to GC-MS. Sixty eight aroma compounds were identified and semi-quantified. After standardizing and normalizing, data information was compressed in gray map space of 0 to 1. Data visualization was completed with Vc(+ +) program and the gray map can express the information of wine aroma compounds. The research outcome was a bar code technology of wine chemicals. Five gray-scale maps were converted from respective data of wine aroma compounds, which can distinguish Cabernet Sauvignon dry red wines from different origins easily.
