摘要

In order to overcome the problems existed in lightning behavior calculation of transmission line modeling, which are difficulties in determination of the different segment sizes of grounding conductors and in calculation of the mutual coupling parameters between the segments, an improved time-domain transmission line model was presented based on the electromagnetic scattering theory and the matrix analytical method with the soil ionization effects taken into consideration;and a method was proposed to calculate the size and mutual coupling parameters of grounding conductor segments. The improved model is capable of predicting the effective length and impulse resistance of ground electrode under lightning strike. The experiment conducted with EDF (Electricite de France) verified that it can be applied in engineering calculation.
