摘要

Alumina wet foams were dip-coated on the surfaces of pre-sintered alumina substrates, dried, and then joined by diffusion bonding via solid-state diffusion without an interlayer during the sintering process. As a coating layer, the alumina wet foam was stabilized by alumina particles that were rendered partially hydrophobic by valeric acid as a short chain amphiphile. The porosity and average cell size of the sintered alumina foams were about 90% and from 100 to 200 mu m, respectively. In this study, we described a novel method of coating a green state alumina wet foam on a porous alumina substrate without any external pressure or interlayer.
