Acetoacetylferrocene reacted with cobalt chloride and tris(2-aminoethyl)amine in methanol to give the title complex, [CoFe(C5H5)(C9H8O2)(C6H18N4)](C24H20B)Cl center dot C3H6O, with acetoacetylferrocene and a tripod amine as ligands. The Co atom has slightly distorted octahedral coordination.
