摘要
A numerical approach is presented for computing film boiling in liquid jet impingement on a high-temperature plate. The conservation equations of mass, momentum and energy are numerically solved in the liquid, vapor, and air phases. The sharp-interface level-set formulation is employed to track the liquid-air interface, as well as the liquid-vapor interface with phase change. A simplified analytical model for a thin vapor film, whose thickness is several orders of magnitude smaller than the liquid layer, is incorporated into the level-set formulation. The multiscale approach is tested through the computations of film boiling in a circular water jet.
