摘要

We compare two expressions for the volume dependence of the Gruneisen parameter gamma for fcc Al presented by Burakovsky and Preston (2004) [3] and Jacobs and Schmid-Fetzer (2010) [4], respectively. It's found that both calculated results of the melting temperature T-m are in good agreement with experimental data. But the higher order Gruneisen parameters are different. We obtain the values of the third order Gruneisen parameter lambda(infinity) and the pressure derivative of bulk modulus K'(infinity) at extreme pressure, and the parameter f in the generalized free volume formula for the two models. The results show that the Jacobs's expression of Gruneisen parameter is more suitable for fcc Al.
