A property of the geometric mean of accretive operators

We prove an inequality for the geometric mean of accretive operators,
R(A#B) >= (RA)#RB),
where the geometricmean was brought in by Drury [Linear Multilinear Algebra. 2015; 63: 296-301]. The proof makes use of a result ofMathias [SIAM J. Matrix Anal. Appl. 1992; 13: 640-654]. This inequality is then used to clarify several plausible assertions.
