摘要

A new type of transducer with an eccentric cylindrical cantilever structure was designed in order to create an improved broadband transmitting transducer. The fundamental design concept combined the advantages of the low frequency flexural vibrating mode and the multi-mode coupling technique to broaden the working bandwidth. Then its major performance parameters, such as vibrating mode, characteristic frequency, impedance and transmitting voltage response were studied by finite-element analysis and the prototype transducer was fabricated and tested. The results showed that the working frequency covers 2 octaves, ranging from 4 kHz to 16 kHz, with the transmitting voltage response fluctuating less than -5 dB, proving the correctness and realizability of the design.
