Analysis on wetting ability of suppressants for coal dust

摘要

Coal dust with high concentration is a potential danger in safe production of coal. Coal dust not only can cause environment pollution, inhalable coal dust but also can enter human body through breath system, and form sense stimulator or permanent poison resulting in pneumoconiosis. Physicochemical and surface properties were studied through commercial analysis on coal. 11 non-ionic and Anionic surfactants were selected on the basis of investigating suppressants applied for coal dust. The behavior of surfactants in increasing the wettability of coal dust was studied. It was discovered that the effects of agents on wettability of coal dust are influenced by many factors such as HLB (Hydrophile Lipophile Balance Number), species and concentration of agents, contact time etc. The results can be references of selecting chemical suppressants for coal dust, and forecasting suppression efficiency of locales.
