摘要

A novel method to synthesize poly(Glycidyl methacrylate)-Cu nanocomposites by free radical suspension polymerization with in-situ chemical reduction in water medium has been reported. A metallic salt precursor was dissolved during the free radical suspension polymerization in a controlled manner followed by the chemical reduction using sodium borohydride. "The X-ray diffraction study results showed that the incorporated copper nanoparticle was present on/near the surface of the poly(Glycidyl methacrylate) matrix." The scanning electron microscopic images revealed that the incorporation of copper nanoparticle changes the morphology and nature of poly(Glycidyl methacrylate) matrix.
