摘要

There has recently been increased interest in the multimodal audiovisual integration. However, the neural activity of multimodal audiovisual integration remains unclear. We ascertained the brain activity of multimodal audiovisual integration using event-related potential measure. Three ERP components related to audiovisual integration were observed: (1) over the front-central areas around 120-140ms; (2) over the front-central areas around 280-300ms; (3) over the occipital areas around 340-380ms. These findings confirmed the main neural activity of audiovisual integration. In addition, our study provided evidence that the audiovisual integration could occur at later stages of multimodal cognitive processing.
