Double percolation in perovskite oxides: Resistivity and magnetization study

The transport properties of doped colossal magnetoresistance oxide La0.825Sr0.175Mn1-xCuxO3 and doped high-T-c superconductive oxide La1.85-2ySr0.15+2yCu1-yMnyO4 are investigated. Anomalous transport behaviors are observed in both systems. For La0.825Sr0.175Mn1-xCuxO3, the resistivity below 60 K for xgreater than or equal to1/3 compositions is four orders of magnitude lower than that for x=0.32 composition. For La1.85-2ySr0.15+2yCu1-yMnyO4, the resistivity at 20 K for 0.32less than or equal toyless than or equal to0.5 compositions is three orders of magnitude lower than that for y=0.30 composition. These abnormal behaviors are attributed to the double percolation process in doped perovskite oxides.
