摘要

Flexure creep of an E-glass/vinyl-ester composite beam and a sandwich beam are modeled through the use of a spectrum function. The Principle of Correspondence is applied to the elastic deflection equation for a beam in four-point flexure from which the time dependent center deflection is obtained. The model is first formulated for a quasi-isotropic glass epoxy beam and then extended to a sandwich beam consisting of a balsa wood core and composite face sheets. The viscoelastic parameters are obtained from the experimental data and used to formulate the time dependent flexural stiffness. The inclusion of shear deformation effects in the methodology is also demonstrated.
