摘要

Objective: To describe the treatment, and prescription determining factors, for arterial hypertension patients that attended a community pharmacy office.
Method: Cross-sectional study of 62 patients attending a community pharmacy office in San Juan de Alicante by means of a personal interview based on an in-house questionnaire.
Results: Angiotensin-II ATI-specific receptor antagonists are the most prescribed antihypertensive drugs (26, 41.9%). 39 patients underwent polytherapy, being more frequent for those with a longer disease time and those with hypercholesterolemia and diabetes. 17.7% of patients had pharmacotherapy not adjusted to the Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG).
Conclusions: The prescription and usage pattern of the different antihypertensive pharmacological groups has changed from prior drug usage studies. It is necessary a greater diffusion of CPGs, as well as a customized patient follow-up by pharmaceutical care programs.
