Application of Composite Coating in TEM Analysis for Ceramic Particle

摘要

A method to prepare transmission electron microscopy (TEM) thin foil for analysis of ceramic particle was introduced. The composite electroplating method was adopted, by which the ceramic powder was homogeneously entrapped. into copper coating, Cu/ceramic particle composite coating was thus prepared, then the coating was thinned by twin-Jet electropolishing, and finally the TEM thin foil was obtained, so that the TEM analysis for ceramic particle was able to be conducted. The required current density, pH-value of electrolyte, stirring measures and electroplating time for composite electroplating have all been discussed. TEM observing and analysis showed that this preparation method was successful.
