Decays of sigma, kappa, alpha(0)(980) and f(0)(980)

Ratios of coupling constants for these decays are compared with q (q) over bar predictions and Jaffe's q(2)(q) over bar (2) model. In both models, the predicted ratio g(2)(K -> K pi)/g(2)(sigma -> pi pi) is much too small. Also, for q (q) over bar, the predicted ratio g(2)(K -> K eta')/g(2)(sigma -> pi pi) is much larger than observed. Both models fail for g(2)(f(0) -> KK)/g(2)(a(0) -> KK). This ratio requires that f(0) has a dominant KK component. It arises naturally because the f(0) pole lies very close to the KK threshold, giving its wave function a long KK tail.
