摘要
In this issue of Cell Stem Cell, Brownell et al. (2011) identify stem cells in the hair follicle bulge that receive Hedgehog signals from adjacent sensory nerves. These stem cells regenerate the cycling hair follicle and, upon wounding, transit into the epidermis to become long-term resident interfollicular epidermal stem cells.
