摘要

Aim: There are new publications on the relationship between metabolic syndrome and autoimmunity with vitamin d3 deficiency. We determine the prevalence of vitamin D3 deficiency in patients with euthyroid Hashimoto's thyroiditis and we compare serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D3, HOMA-IR, waist and hip circumference between euthyroid Hashimoto's thyroiditis and control group.
Method: 99 patients who have only euthyroid Hashimoto's thyroiditis and 57 healthy controls that admitted to GATA endocrinology and metabolism clinic without any additional disease and organ dysfunction in this study. All patients were evaluated with thyroid ultrasound due to heterogenity. Measurements of height, weight, waist and hip circumference are taken. Fasting glucose, insulin, vitamin D3, thyroid function tests, and autoantibodies, lipid profile were measured. Euthyroid Hashimoto's thyroiditis patients who have vitamin d deficiency were treated with vitamin d3 for one month. The data were reevaluated at the first month treatment.
Results: There were no significant difference for age body mass index among the two groups. Patients with euthyroid Hashimoto's thyroiditis were more common vitamin d3 deficiency(60/99) than the control group()(p = 0,001). Vitamin d3 levels were (20.81 +/- 14.1 ng/ml) in euthyroid Hashimoto's thyroiditis patients, (28.79 +/- 11.2 ng/ml) in control group patients (p = 0.044). Euthyroid Hashimoto's thyroiditis patients were higher waist circumference (p = 0.027) and waist-hip ratio (p = 0.023) than the control group. HOMA-IR levels were significantly decreased in Euthyroid Hashimoto's thyroiditis patients with treated vitamin d3 (p = 0.025). Autoantibody levels did not change significantly with vitamin D3 treatment.
Discussion: Vitamin d3 treatment could improve metabolic parameters with Hashimoto's thyroiditis patients. New studies with a higher number of patients and longer follow-up time could support to determine whether Euthyroid Hashimoto's thyroiditis are more common with vitamin d3 deficiency or not.
