摘要

The adaptive modal combination (AMC) procedure, as one of the advanced methods for nonlinear static analysis of building frames, is extended on bridges and its accuracy is compared with other pushover methods. The obtained results indicate that using adaptive load pattern improves the estimations of the first mode-based pushover analysis. However, the effects of the higher modes could not be considered effectively by implementing the adaptive load pattern. Therefore, a modified version of AMC procedure is proposed for bridges, in which the adaptive load pattern is used only in the first mode analysis. The proposed procedure results in improved estimations.
