摘要

Incremental Sheet Forming is a process for the flexible production of sheet metal parts. In incremental sheet forming, a part is obtained as the sum of localised plastic deformations induced by a simple forming tool that moves under CNC control. Four main problems exist in incremental sheet forming: (i) sheet thinning, (ii) the limited geometrical accuracy, (iii) the long process duration and (iv) the lack of fast process models. These limits restrict the range of applications of incremental sheet forming and its industrial implementation. This paper presents a short overview of the state of the art in incremental sheet forming and introduces two new hybrid processes: the combination of stretch forming and incremental sheet forming and laser assisted incremental sheet forming. These two combinations allow for the manufacture of sheet metal parts as individual parts or single components and small batches. First results are presented that demonstrate the benefits of these two hybrid processes compared to pure incremental sheet forming with regard to the process limits and the forming of high strength material.
